اليوم معنا أشجع الحيوانات وأكثرها مهابة علي وجه الارض

أنه ملك الغابة

انه الأسد

يمكن القول ان الاسد هو احد فصائل النمور ولكنه اقوي بكثير من النمر

يبلغ وزن الاسد الذكر حوالي 250  كيلوجرام.

تعيش أغلب الاسود في أفريقيا ولذلك تسمي القبائل التي تطلق علي نفسها اسود في افريقيا بأسود افريقيا سواء كانت قبائل او بلاد

وللأسد عند العرب مكانة كبيرة حيث يعبر الاسد عن الشجاعة والقوة والجسارة ولذلك كان له ما يزيد عن  مائة اسم متداول بين العرب

ولعل من اشهر هذه الاسماء :

السيع   -   الليث    - أسامة    -    ابو فراس    -   ازد   -   أصهب    -   أشهب     -     باسل

حمزة    -   حفص    -     درغام   -  عايس    -    عباس    -   عتريس  .

وأسماء اخري كثيرة .

وتدل كثرة أسماء الاسد عند العرب علي مكانته في قلوبهم وكانوا يسمون أبناءهم بأسماء الاسد ليرهبوا به اعدائهم .

أغلب الاسود يميل لونها الي اللون البني الذي يميل الي الاصفر قليلا

ولكن يوجد متن الاسود ما لونه اصفر وهو يعيش في  جنوب أفريقيا .

الأسد:

يبلغ طول الاسد حوالي ثلاث امتار ويبلغ أرتفاعه حوالي متر واحد

واللبؤة تكون اقصر من الاسد قليلا .

يبلغ الاسد سن البلوغ عند بلوغه عامه الثالث ويكون اسرته في هذه الفترة .

تبلغ سرعة الاسد في الحد الاقصي 55 كم / ساعة  .

يعتمد الاسد في صيده علي انيابه الحادة جدا وعلي كفيه القويين بدرجة لا تصدق وهما يعتبران مصدر قوته الاول.

ويمكن ان ياكل الاسد في الوجبة الواحدة اكثر من 35 كيلو جرام من اللحم وفي المقابل ينام لمدة تصل الي 24 ساعة متواصل
